Dealing With

Difficult People & Bullies

The better we feel about ourselves,
the fewer times we have to knock someone down in order to feel tall. —Odetta

For each of us, the word Bully conjures up vivid mental pictures………followed by a shiver that vibrates down our spine, escaping in electrical currents shooting from our fingers and toes.
x

Perhaps we think of the school yard bully…the one who used to intimidate us in childhood, who took our lunch money, pulled our chair out from under us as we were about to sit down, called us names in front of everyone and in general tried to make us feel small, insignificant and inferior.
v

Perhaps we think of a parent who constantly put us down, laughed at our accomplishments, told us we were not good enough and set us up for failure.
n

Perhaps we think of a group of spiteful students at college who moved in a pack, offering upturned noses and slightly curled lips, who told us that any group that accepted us couldn’t be worth joining, who looked at our clothes & car with such distain as to require no words.
n

Perhaps we think of a fellow employee who criticizes us in front of others in our office, who takes credit for our work, who blames everyone else when something goes wrong with a project, who dominates the conversation, always talking over us when we try to speak.
m

Perhaps we think of the love of our life, who tries to control our actions and decisions, who verbally attacks us when we challenge their authority, who makes us feel guilty and responsible for their unhappiness, who are charming in public yet vindictive and cruel in private.
m

These and many other scenarios accurately describe one of the most difficult types of people in our society today…. The Bully.
m

These people wreck havoc in our lives by spreading chaos, panic and disorder. We ask ourselves, “How do I deal with bullies? Where do I begin?”
m

Can you get excited about possessing the skills to deal with bullies in a calm, sane, successful manner? Wouldn’t you benefit by disarming bully-like behavior when it starts? Think how your value at work would increase if you could diffuse bully behavior.

Until now, finding a program that offers this information and training has been impossible. Even if the opportunity was available, how do we find the time to attend classes or workshops? We already need to be in 3 places at one time, work long hours and struggle to find time for our families.    Then there is the cost. Our budgets are stretched, we already have to make spending choices.
m

Wouldn’t it be worthwhile to find a program that teaches children, teens and adults how to deal with bullies in positive and productive ways?   Wouldn’t it make a difference if it was affordable?

Announcing Etiquette YOU-niversity, an online, self-paced social skills training program that includes an in depth section on dealing with bullies. Enjoy lessons with games, printouts, quizzes, certificates and more. Wouldn’t your family enjoy learning these and other social skills together?

85% of our success depends on our social skills. Dealing with bullies is a vital part of good social skills. Wouldn’t your families success be guaranteed whit good social skills training included in the budget?
m
Ask yourself, Wouldn’t a higher quality of life for your family be worth the price of a weekly “happy” meal?
